Mothers' Milk Bank, Inc. (San Francisco, Calif.)
Mothers' Milk Bank was established in 1947 by the Baby Hygiene Committee of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), San Francisco branch, to provide milk from nursing mothers to premature and sick infants, to supply milk for scientific research, and to serve as a demonstration center for medical and lay groups. Although run by members of AAUW, the Mothers' Milk Bank was incorporated as a separate organization, and began service in June 1948.
