Biography
Trained as a physician at the University of Minnesota, Minerva Goodman (1876-1967)worked with the Chinese, the poor and the elderly of Stockton (Calif.) from 1904 until she retired in 1962. Goodman was instrumental in establishing x-ray testing for tuberculosis in Stockton. She served the College of the Pacific as physician to women students for thirty-eight years (1924-1962). Minerva Goodmn was also active in the woman suffrage movement. She was, at different times, President, Secretary and Public Relations Officer for the Stockton Political Equality Club (1904-1911), an affiliate of the California Equal Suffrage Association.
