Johnson, Arlien
Arlien G. Johnson (d.1988) was a Reed graduate from 1917 who earned her PhD in social work from the University of Chicago. She was a national leader in the field of social work, a prolific writer, and a dean at the School of Social Work at the University of Southern California. Her sister, Mildred A. Cline (1910-2000), graduated from Reed in 1932 and became a librarian in Oregon and California.
