United States. Board of Choctaw Commissioners.

The Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek (1830) provided that Choctaw Indians who agreed to remove from Mississippi would receive land in southeastern Indian Territory. The treaty also provided for the relocation within Mississippi of Choctaw who did not want to remove to Indian Territory. Samuel Rush was one of the Choctaw Commissioners who oversaw the implementation of the treaty.
