Massachusetts Hall
Massachusetts Hall, south of Johnston Gate in the Old Yard, is the oldest Harvard building standing and the second oldest academic building in the country. In 1939, the lower floors were converted into the offices of the President of Harvard College and various officers of the university (including the vice-presidents, special assistants to the president, and the general counsel). As of 2001, the upper two floors house freshmen.
