Lowenfeld, Viktor.
Viktor Lowenfeld (1903-1960) was a seminal figure in art education. Born and educated in Vienna, he fled to the United States around the time that his first English book The Nature of Creative Activity (1939) was published. He taught at Hampton Institute (1939-1947) and Penn State (1947-1960) until his death.
