University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire. Office of Records and Registration.
The Office of Records and Registration is responsible for the development and administration of procedures for student registration and the maintenance of student academic records and files. The office also reviews student records to verify that all requirements have been met for graduation. In addition, the office prepares class schedules for each semester, assigns classrooms, and maintains a master list of all courses.
From 1916-1926 registration activities at the Eau Claire State Normal School were handled by President Harvey Schofield's office and his Administration Committee. The transition in 1926 and 1927 to a degree-granting college, however, necessitated the appointment of A. J. Fox as the first registrar. In 1979 the expanding functions of the office were reflected in the title change to Registrar and Coordinator of Student Academic Services. Five years later the office title was changed to the Office of Records and Registration, which is directed by the Registrar.
