National Association of Teachers of Singing (U.S.)
The National Association of Teachers of Singing was established in 1944 as an educational and collaborative resource for the profession. Through workshops, conferences, events, and publications such as the Journal of Singing, NATS supports the teaching of singing worldwide. The organization came into being in 1944 as an offshoot of the Music Teachers National Association. NATS organizes the NATS Artist Awards (NATSAA) competition, sponsors Student Auditions and workshops, publishes the Journal of Singing, and provides semiannual conferences for its membership.
