Morner, Kathleen

Kathleen Morner was an assistant music critic at the Chicago Sun-Times in the late 1960s, having studied English and music. In 1972, after departing from the Sun-Times, she received a call from Paul Fromm, inviting her to assist him in writing the speeches he gave prior to University of Chicago Contemporary Chamber Players performances. Their working style varied, but typically involved writing a speech based on a theme or quotation. Over time, Morner assisted Fromm with the writing or rewriting of speeches, program introductions, and letters.
