Amherst Disarmament Coalition (Amherst, Mass.)
Group that peacefully protested the Vietnam War, nuclear weapons, and government policy in Central America and the Middle East by organizing a weekly vigil in downtown Amherst, Massachusetts. The vigil was known as the Nuclear Moratorium Vigil until about 1984, when it was renamed the Vigil for Peace and Justice. Frances Crowe was an early organizer of the vigils.
