Commissioned by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra in 1973. Composed 1973; revised 1975. First performance Toledo, Ohio, 13 November 1973, Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Serge Fournier conductor, the composer as narrator for the introduction. Won honorable mention in the Mu Phi Epsilon Composition Competition for 1977.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
