Kleiber, Erich
Kleiber was an Austrian conductor who became music director at the Berlin State Opera in 1923; he conducted the world premiere of Alban Berg's Wozzeck in 1925. In 1934 he resigned in protest against the Nazi government and emigrated to Buenos Aires, where he continued his conducting career until after the war.
