Mace, Nancy, 1977-

Nancy Ruth Mace (born December 4, 1977) is an American politician. A member of the Republican Party, she has served as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 1st congressional district since 2021.

Born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, she grew up in Goose Creek, South Carolina. After graduating from Stratford High School in Goose Creek, she earned a B.A. from The Citadel and an M.S. from the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. Mace wrote In the Company of Men: A Woman at The Citadel about her experience at the Citadel. In 2008, Mace started a consulting business called The Mace Group. After losing the 2014 Republican Party nomination for the U.S. Senate in South Carolina, she worked for Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign in South Carolina. In January 2018, Mace won a special election to for the South Carolina State House District 99 seat. She was re-elected in November 2018.
