Dr. Lloyd H. Elliott was president of the University of Maine from 1958 to 1965. He was an honorary member of the Class of 1962. The members of the class raised money for a portrait and commissioned Bjorn Egeli, a Norwegian-born American portrait painter, to paint his portrait. It was unveiled at a ceremony in 1966 and hung in the Joseph P. Bass Room of the Raymond H. Fogler Library.
