Farrar, Jonathan Don, 1956-
Jonathan Don Farrar (born 1956) was the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Panama from May 2012 to June 2015. He was previously the Chief of Mission of the United States Interests Section in Havana, Cuba, from July 2008 to September 2011.
Farrar joined the U.S. State Department in 1980 as an economic officer, and is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. He was born in Los Angeles, California, graduated from Covina High School, and studied at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Claremont Graduate University, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Farrar is married and has three children. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese in addition to English.
