White, Pamela A., 1948-

Pamela A. White served as Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti from August 3, 2012 until October 6, 2015. She previously served as Ambassador to The Gambia from November 29, 2010 to June 2, 2012. Prior to her ambassadorships, she served as Mission Director for United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Liberia where she managed USAID's second largest development budget in Africa, averaging over $200 million a year.

Ambassador White, born in Lewiston, Maine in 1948, studied at the University of Maine where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and the School for International Training where she earned a master’s degree in international development. In 1999, she graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. In May 2012, she received the Medal of Honor from The Gambia, one of the only foreigners to ever receive this award.
