Arctic Brotherhood
The Arctic Brotherhood was founded by eleven men on board the "S.S. City of Seattle" on February 26, 1899 while enroute to Skagway. Upon landing in Skagway Camp #1 was established. Other camps soon formed in Nome, Fairbanks, Dawson and most placer mining camps. The Arctic Brotherhood is a social organization with the goal of providing a closer and more intimate association for men in Alaska and the Yukon Territories.
