Everglades National Park (Agency : U.S.)
The Everglades National Park Commission was formed in the late 1920's to preserve the Everglades as a national park, and the legislatures moved to pass the legislation needed, but the war of the 1930's and 1940's put the project on hold; in 1946 a new Commission was formed and legislation for the park was soon passed, and on Dec. 6, 1947 President Harry S. Truman dedicated the Everglades National Park.
