Franklin, Rosalind, 1920-1958
Rosalind Franklin (1920-1958) made significant contributions to the discovery and understanding of DNA. She earned a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Cambridge University and used X-ray crystallography techniques at the Laboratoire Central des Services Chimiques de L'Etat (Paris, France) and Birkbeck College (University of London) to capture images of the structure of DNA.
