Bagg, Benjamin Rush, 1829-1862.
Born at Watertown, N.Y., July 16, 1829; came with his parents to Detroit, 1838; where he received his education; began employment as clerk in the post office, 1845-46; private secretary of Lewis Cass on his tour of the U.S. in 1848; studied law at various places; was admitted to the bar in Detroit and began practice there; justice of the peace, judge of the police court, 1852-1862; he died of apoplexy in Detroit, Sept. 8, 1862.
