Scagliotta, Edward G.
Edward G. Scagliotta was born in Bound Brook, New Jersey on June 2, 1927 and grew up on a small farm there during the Great Depression. In May, 1945, Scagliotta enlisted in the Naval Reserve and was assigned to the USS Huntington. He received his Bachelors and Masters in Education from Rutgers University and his Ph.D from Southeastern University. After working as an elementary school teacher, he became interested in special education and founded the Midland School in 1960. Dr. Edward G. Scagliotta was interviewed on October 29, 2003 by the Rutgers Oral History Archives of World War II.
