Illinois Junior College Board

The Illinois Community College Board serves as the governing body for the state's copmmunity colleges. It establishes standards for the colleges; investigates the feasibility of creating new community college districts; and provides for the colleges' maintenance. The board was originally created as the Junior College Board in 1965, becoming the Illinois Community College Board in 1973.
