Dods, Mary Diana
Mary Diana Dods, pseudonym David Lyndsay, British writer. For a time she lived among Paris's elite Anglo-French society as a man, taking the name Walter Sholto Douglas. As Douglas, Dods had a wife and child, and her close friend, writer Mary Shelley, helped her conceal the truth behind her gender identity.
