Member of the South Carolina State University (formerly the Colored Normal, Industrial, Agricultural and Mechanical College of South Carolina and South Carolina State College) Board of Trustees, 1960-1986; served as secretary to the Board of Trustees; native of Prospect, Va.; attended Hampton Sydney College, Farmville, Va.; served during World War II in the Naval Reserves Bomb Disposal Unit and received a Bronze Star for valor; received MBA from Dartmouth Business School; married Jean Ruth Davis, 1953.
