Cox, John, 1860-1951
John Cox (1860-1951), Quaker genealogist, lived in or near New York City for most of his life. He was an architect, engineer, and poet, but his primary interests were religious tolerance and genealogy. As Custodian of Records for the New York Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, he worked to collect surviving records from both Orthodox and Hicksite meetings.
