Dixon, Algernon Cyrus, 1875-1962.
Algernon Cyrus Dixon was born in Illinois. He attended Oregon State Normal School in Monmouth from 1892-1893. In 1900 he was foreman for Booth-Kelly Lumber Co., Springfield, Oregon and became mill superintendent, sales manager, general manager, and vice-president of the company. He was a director of the Ochoco Timber Co., Eugene, and trustee and president of the West Coast Lumbermens' Association. From 1911 to 1923 he was on the Board of Regents, University of Oregon, much of the time as chairman of the building committee.
