Citizens National Bank and Trust Company of Pottstown (Pa.).

The Citizens National Bank was formed as a locally managed bank on March 28, 1892. Its primary work appears to have been monetary. The most active committees of the board were the discount and exchange committees. By 1925 the bank had become involved in real estate and consumer financing. In 1927 it consolidated with the Citizens Trust Company as it assumed full fiduciary powers under a special permit from the Federal Reserve Board.

On December 9, 1955, as part of its suburban expansion Philadelphia National Bank acquired the Citizens National Bank and Trust Company.
