Pike, Thomas P.

Thomas P. Pike was born on August 12, 1909 in Los Angeles, California. He received an A.B. in economics from Stanford University in 1931. He served in the following capacities: Chairman of the Los Angeles County Republican Finance Committee, 1949 to 1952; Chairman of the California Republican State Finance Committee, 1942 to 1953; member of the Republican National Finance Committee, 1953; Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Supply and Logistics, 1953 to 1954; Assistant Secretary of Defense, 1954 to 1956; Special Assistant to President Eisenhower, 1956 and 1958; Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, 1957 to 1958; Chairman of the California Nixon for President, 1960; vice chairman of Los Angeles County Nixon Finance Committee, 1968; delegate to the Republican National Convention, 1968; and vice chairman for the California Committee to Reelect Richard M. Nixon, 1972. Pike worked for the Repub Supply Company, 1938 to 1938; served as president and founder of Thomas P. Pike Drilling Company, 1938 to 1953; chairman of the board and CEO of Pike Corporation of America, 1958 to 1965; and vice chairman of the board of Fluor Corporation.
