Michalski, Stanley F.

Stanley Franklin Michalski Jr. (b.1934) is an American collegiate band director and music professor. Born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, he received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Music Education, and Doctorate in Music Education from Pennsylvania State University in 1956, 1959, and 1966 respectively. Dr. Michalski worked as a band director for the Central Dauphin School system from 1956 1958. After returning to Penn State for graduate study, Dr. Michalski was Supervisor of Music at the Juniata Joint Schools from 1959 1960.

In 1961, Dr. Michalski began his lengthy tenure at Clarion State College (became Clarion University in 1982), the institution where he remained for thirty-one years serving in various capacities. Dr. Michalski conducted both the Clarion concert and marching bands as well as organized and managed the summer clinics for the University majorettes, silk and rifle squad, and cheerleading. Under Dr. Michalskis leadership, the Clarion University Band performed for international and statewide audiences in multiple concert tours each year. He formally retired from his tenure at Clarion in 1992.
