Bartkowski, Jan, 1811-1893

Jan Bartkowski left Poland ca. 1831 as part of the Great Emigration following the insurrection of 1830-1831. He first went to England where he married an English woman. By 1870, he was teaching English at a lycée at Nancy, France.
