Fahs, Sophia Lyon, 1876-1978

Sophia Blanche Lyon Fahs (1876-1978): Unitarian educator, editor, author, minister. Born in China, the daughter of Presbyterian missionaries. A.B., College of Wooster, 1897; M.A., Teacher's College, Columbia University, 1904; B.D., Union Theological Seminary, 1926. Taught religious education at Union (1927-1944). On staff of church school at Riverside Church, New York City (1933-1942). Editor of children's material for the American Unitarian Association (1937-1951). Author of many books and articles in the area of religious education. Ordained Unitarian minister, 1959.
