Borrer, William
William Borrer (1781-1862), botanist, was born at Henfield, Sussex, on 13 June 1781, and educated at private schools at Hurstpierpoint and Carshalton, Surrey. He left school early, and received further education from tutors. Borrer travelled around Britain collecting species of plants, and made contributions to botanical publications. He was a Fellow of the Royal, Linnean and Wernerian Societies. He died at Henfield on 10 January 1862.
