West Texas Chamber of Commerce
The West Texas Chamber of Commerce had its beginning in Fort Worth, Texas, in December, 1918. This organization was established to effectively serve West Texas through economic growth. At the time of its merger with the Texas Chamber of Commerce in 1986, its main office was located at Abilene, Texas. The records represent fifty years of its history and operation in promoting better industries to develop in West Texas in areas such as agriculture, education, tourism, medicine, and other businesses. Today its main office is in Austin, Texas.
