Australian Council for Civil Liberties

The Council for Civil Liberties was launched at a meeting in Sydney on 14 October 1963. It was convened by Ken Buckley, Dick Klugman and J. B. Sweeny. "Its aims are to take up and investigate matters involving freedom of speech, publication assembly and organization as well as public conduct, censorship, immigration and naturalisation and arbitrary discrimination and deprivation of liberty of all kinds".
