Rogers, Daisy, 1922-2018

Daisy Rogers was born Daisy Pearl Putnam on February 18, 1922, in the former town of Red Eagle, Oklahoma. Her father worked in the oil industry, and by the 1930 census, the family had relocated to Shidler Oklahoma, and to Tulsa by the 1940 census. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M University (now Oklahoma State University) with a degree in home economics, and married Robert Jean "Bob" Rogers in Tulsa in 1944, later moving with him to New York City, and to Denton, Texas. She was active as a volunteer in the communities she lived in. Daisy and Bob Rogers both volunteered at the University of North Texas Music Library for many years after Bob's retirement from the College of Music faculty. Daisy Rogers died in Denton October 19, 2018.
