Grentzer, Rose Marie
Rose Marie Grentzer (1914-1985) was an American music educator. She graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) in 1936 with bachelor's degrees in public school music, music (violin), and music education. From 1946-1955, Grentzer taught music education courses at several prominent institutions, including the Juilliard School, Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, University of Michigan, University of Colorado, and the Catholic University of America. She was hired by the University of Maryland in 1955 to develop a graduate program in music education. During this time she organized and directed the Madrigal Singers, who toured and performed at prestigious events throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area.
