Barnes, Frank Cary
Frank Barnes was originally from Georgia and earned a degree in engineering from the George Institute of technology and an MBA and Ph.D. from Georgia State University. In his early adulthood he also served in the North Carolina and Georgia Air National Guard as an air crew member in aero-medical evacuation. He joined the faculty at UNCC at a time when it was establishing many new programs. Dr. Barnes was an early advocate for publication and research at this rapidly growing university. Barnes was also active in public service in a variety of ways, but most notably as the president of the conservative advocacy group "Citizens for Effective Government" (CFEG).
