Traube, Isodor
Isidor Traube was born 31 March 1860 in Hildesheim, Germany. He was an assistant at the Bonn Agricultural Academy and physical chemist at the Technische Hochschule, Berlin, where he became professor of chemistry in 1900. In 1934 he immigrated to Great Britain and took a post at the University of Edinburgh. He founded capillary chemistry and did extensive work on liquids. Professor Isidor Traube died in Edinburgh 27 October 1943.
