Schaffer, Harry.

Harry Schaffer, the National Commander-in-Chief of the Jewish War Veterans from 1936-1940, was outspoken on the national scene about the threat of Nazism posed to Jews. Locally, he was involved in the YM&WHA, Beth Shalom Synagogue, Beth Jacob Synagogue and the Masons. He died in 1976. Manuel Rogoff was a bombadier shot down over France in 1943 at the age of 26. In later life, he was in the car wrecking business.
