Manigault family.
This family was established in South Carolina by the Huguenot immigrants Pierre and Judith Manigault. Their son, Gabriel Manigault (1704-1781), became the wealthiest merchant and private banker in the Carolinas. He married Ann Ashby, and their son was Peter Manigault (1731-1773).
