Professor of Microbiology, A.N.U., graduate of University of Adelaide; Australian Army Medical Corps, 1940-1946; Haley Research Fellow, Melbourne University, 1946-1948; Rockefeller Travelling Fellow, 1948-1949; David Syme Research Prize, 1949; von Mueller Medal, 1964; known for his non-metrical morphological studies, establishing the distinctive nature of the Southern skull.
