Preece, William-Henry, 1834-1913
Welch electrical engineer and inventor. Engineer in Chief of the British General Post Office in 1892 and developer of improvements in the railroad signaling system. Preece invented a telegraphy and telephony system similar to Alexander Graham Bell's. Supported of Gugliemo Marconi's wireless discoveries. Knighted in 1899.
