Fleming, Gladys Andrews

Teacher and author, born in Lynn, Massachusetts, March 13, 1908. She received an AB degree from the Michigan College of Education in 1932, MS degree in 1939 from the University of Wisconsin, and the Ed. D. from New York University in 1952. She taught at N.Y.U. from 1949-1965, at Virginia Commonwealth University from 1969-1978, and at various other campuses over the years. She also served as Vice-President of the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, and as Chairperson of its Dance Division. She served as the American Red Cross Recreation Program Supervisor, Pacific and Far East Command from 1944-1948, and as the official U.S. representative to the 1949 Lingiad, International Physical Education Congress, in Stockholm.
