Cooper, Ann L. (Ann Lewis)

Ann L. Cooper (1934-) was born on April 10, 1934 in Baldwin, Long Island, New York. She has been a pilot for over 25 years, a certified flight instructor, and is a prolific author with over 600 published magazine articles to her credit. She as been an editor of Aero Brush, the journal of the American Society of Aviation Artists; Quarterly, a newsletter for the International Women's Air and Space Museum (IWASM); Ninety-Nines News, magazine of the International Women Pilots, the Ninety-Nines; contributing editor to Sports Pilot and is the author of four books: Rising Above It, Edna Gardner Whyte, An Autobiography; Out on the Wing: Jessie Woods and the Flying Aces Air Circus; Fire and Air, written by Patty Wagstaff; and Tuskegee's Heros as featured in the aviation art of Roy E. LaGrone, co-written with her husband, Charles S. Cooper.

Cooper is also a 1956 graduate of Connecticut College and completed postgraduate work at the Oregon Institute of Technology. She is married to USAF retired Major General Charles S. Cooper and has three children and four stepchildren. Cooper currently resides in Beavercreek, Ohio.
