Head Start/Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (Seattle, Wash.)
A child development program for preschool children from low-income families. Funded with money from federal, state and local governments, the program offered comprehensive services, including education, health, nutrition, and social services, through contract agencies at sites throughout Seattle. Begun as the Head Start Program, the name changed to Head Start/Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program in 1987 to reflect State ECEAP funding.
