Hammond, H. P. (Harry Parker), 1884-1953
Harry P. Hammond was named to the faculty at the Pennsylvania State College in 1937 and served as dean of the School of Engineering from 1937 to 1952. During his years as dean, enrollment in the school grew from 1,000 to 2,500 students and he was recognized as one of the leading figures in the field of engineering education in the country. Dr. Hammond retired with emeritus rank on September 1, 1951.
