Holbrook, Amory.
Amory Holbrook came to Oregon from Massachusetts when he was appointed the United States Attorney for Oregon by President Zachary Taylor. He prosecuted and won the murder trial after the deaths of Marcus and Narcissa Whitman. From 1862 to 1864 he was the editor of The Oregonian. He died in 1866, at the age of 46.
