Founded in 1965 in Newport, R.I. by Alexander Nesbitt and Ilse Buchert Nesbitt, to produce printing using hand-set type and hand presses; output of the press has included original woodblock prints, note paper, Christmas cards, and limited edition original books, as well as miscellaneous job printing.

Alexander Nesbitt, b. 1901 in Paterson, N.J., d. 1995; calligrapher, type historian and teacher; worked for many years in New York city as a designer and teacher; later taught at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI and at Southeastern Massachusetts University in North Dartmouth, MA. where he retired in 1972; author of History and technique of lettering (1950).
