Goulding, Adelaide A., 1886-1904.
Adelaide "Addie" Goulding was born on a ranch in southern Musselshell County, Montana, in 1886, the daughter of Edward J. and Lily (Ramsey) Goulding. The ranch was owned by Edward Goulding and his father-in-law. Goulding's homestead, proved up in 1889, was on a creek eventually named for him. The family later moved to Billings. Addie was close friends with Bessie Johnson, who moved to Steilacoom, Washington, south of Tacoma. Adelaide married Isaac L. Brooks, a 33 year old widowed farmer with a 3-year old daughter Hazel, on November 2, 1904. Adelaide died two months later on January 8, 1905 at age 19, of smallpox during an epidemic in Billings.
