Krollmann, Gustav Wilhelm, 1888-1962
Gustav Wilhelm Krollman was born in Vienna, Austria in 1888. He received his art training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and in 1923, immigrated to the United States where he settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He became known as a muralist and portrait painter. In the late 1920s he worked for the Northern Pacific Railway as an artist for their poster campaign to attract visitors to scenic places along the rail route. Krollman became a teacher at the Minneapolis School of Art in 1931. He died in 1962.
